Great for introducing exciting new flavours. Puree for babies of 6 months or can be used with finger foods from 7 months

Ingredients

  • 2 Ella’s Kitchen Parsnips, Parsnips, Parsnips pouches (or 1 large chopped parsnip)
  • 400g canned green lentils
  • 1 red onion, very finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic (optional)
  • ½tsp ground cumin
  • 1tsp mild curry powder

Method

  1. If using fresh parsnips, steam or boil over a medium heat for 10-12 minutes until tender.
  1. Heat some oil over a medium heat, add chopped onion and garlic.
  1. When the onion has softened, add spices, parsnip and half of the lentils.
  1. When the mix comes up to temperature blend until smooth.
  1. Add the remaining lentils to the mix. If a smooth texture is required, blend all of the lentils down into the dahl.
  1. Finish with a squeeze of lemon.
