6 ways to have a cracking Easter
The long weekend is a great excuse to get together with all the family and have fun with the kids – here are six suggestions for an egg-cellent Easter!
1. Paint your own Easter eggs
Hard-boil some eggs and see what masterpieces your children can come up with using glue, marker pens and glitter paints. Keep the egg still for them by holding it or placing it in the carton. Children love any excuse to get creative, and you may even find you have a miniature Monet or pint-sized Picasso in the family!
2. Go out for the day
Spring is in the air at last, so it’s a great time to get out and about. From historical buildings and woodland trails, to Easter egg hunts galore, there’s so much to see and do! Even the youngest members of the family will enjoy the stimulus and sense of adventure – just make sure your changing bag is well stocked for a day out, and don’t forget to pack warm clothing and plenty of snacks.
3. Have an Easter egg hunt
Organise your own egg hunt. Simply put eggs around your garden or home at the children’s eye-level, so they can just see them. Babies don’t have to miss out – you find the eggs then let them grab them. Be ready to direct the kids by calling out ‘hotter, hotter, colder, colder!’ To avoid any choc-induced tantrums, limit how many they’re allowed or explain that at the end of the hunt all the eggs will be divided equally among them.
